SYNOPSIS
In a small neighbourhood of a traditional Lebanese coastal town, the town’s beloved music teacher Leba lives together with his wife and two daughters. When the family receives their much awaited son Ghadi, the whole town cheers. Little Ghadi soon becomes a problem to the townspeople; born with special needs he communicates his feelings throughloud unintelligible noises. Gradually the townspeople unite against Ghadi, to get him into an institution. To prevent this from happening, Leba and his friends figure out a way to convince the neighbours to change their minds about Ghadi. The solution is heartwarming and extraordinary.

DIRECTOR’S BIO
A celebrated director and visual artist, Amin Dora was born and raised in Zahle, Lebanon. Dora won an International Digital Emmy Award for directing Shankaboot, the world’s first Arabic Web Drama series, in which he explored innovative ways of portraying real life in Beirut. Dora’s intimate narrative filmic language salong with his reputation for hilarious and dry comedy, are clearly reflected in his exquisite storytelling. Ghadi is Dora’s first feature film.

SYNOPSIS
I en pittoresk stadsdel av en libanesisk kuststad bor musikläraren Leba tillsammans med sin fru och två döttrar. När familjen äntligen får sin efterlängtade son Ghadi, jublar hela staden. Snart framstår den unga pojken alltmer som ett problem för grannskapet; Ghadi är född med särskilda behov och kommunicerar sina känslor genom höga obegripliga ljud. Gradvis enas grannskapet mot Ghadi för att förflytta honom till en institution. För att förhindra detta listar Leba och hans vänner ut ett sätt att övertyga grannarna att ändra sig om Ghadi. Lösningen är lika hjärtvärmande som påhittig.

OM REGISSÖREN
Amin Dora är en uppmärksammad regissör och bildkonstnär, född och uppvuxen i Zahle, Libanon. Dora vann en International Digital Emmy Award för att sin regi av Shankaboot, världens första arabiska webbdramaserier , där han utforskade innovativa sätt att porträttera livet i Beirut. Doras intima berättelse filmiska språk med sitt rykte om lustiga och torra komiska skildringar, återspeglas tydligt i hans berättande Ghadi är Doras första långfilm.
